The space in my house is just enough room for my family. We have three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, two bathrooms, and one really big basement. There is a room for my parents, a room for my sister and a room for me. When i’m not there my room becomes extra storage space.  We have a really nice size kitchen that i think was specially made for my family because on Sundays everybody comes over and helps cook. Our living room has enough space for my dad, my uncles and my cousins for when there is a game on and they come over to watch it. We have two bathrooms in my house, which in my opinion was the greatest invention ever! For some reason my family always has to use the bathroom at the same time so having more than one bathroom is perfect. Another really spacious part of the house is the basement, which i really love because my sister and i love to throw parties for people. Our basement is the perfect party place. We have just moved in this house about a year ago and we’ve thrown lots of parties and it’s never over crowded. The most spacious part around my house is the backyard. We have a really big backyard and it’s mainly for my little sister. She loves to run around and play.  Whoever designed this house was really conscious about the space in it and what the different rooms would be used for.

I attended a program during this pass summer called trio sss,, they paid for us to stay on campus and attend classes. I stayed in Ghafari Hall and had to share a room with another person, which would have been fine except the space was very small. The room was so small that one would think that it would be a single person room but it wasnt. The room consisted of two wardrobes, two dressers, and two desks. We were only allowed to bring a microwave and fridge. My roommate and I were really ezcited to be there and at first we spent most of our time in that room but aftre a while we just couldnt take it anymore we had to get out. the space in the dorms were so limited that if we had five visitors it would have have been extremely crowded. even though I really enjoyed my time staying in the dorms and being away from my parents I wouldnt spend eight thousand dollars to stay in a cramped space with someone else for eight months.

> A boyfriend and girlfriends is very complicated.A relationship can bloom from a friendships, aquantance, just pure first site. Many relationships start with getting to know each. You ask numerous questions. What do you like to do? How was your childhood? , or even what is your favorite color? We ask these question to better understand what a person has done through a course of their life.
> Boys and girls go out on dates and introduce one another to their families hoping that the families approve of the relationship with this other person. We as people care a lot about what others think. so getting the approval of family and friends is important to us. The boy and girl will decide to kiss and touch each other as the relationship progresses through time. At a certain moment in the relationship we figure out if this other person is the right one. Does this other person fit into the list that we have made in our minds as the perfect man or woman. In real life there is no such thing as the perfect mate.Me and my boyfriend have been together for almost two years. We meet through a mutual friend. We decided to meet and get to know each other. Through these past two years, we have had a lot of fight over stupid things, but in the end we just make up and forget that it even happened. I figured out that i loved him the second month into our relationship. I need help, n he!

Final Paper: Music Research  

Due: Wednesday, December 12^th (last day of class!)

Peer Edit Day: Monday, December 10^th—this day is worth 5% of your total grade or 100 points, attendance with your rough draft is mandatory for a grade on this day, I will not be accepting late drafts.

Length: 6-8 pages, double-spaced, MLA format. (Works cited page is an additional page.)

Additional Requirements:

An accurate works cited page

Proper grammar, punctuation, and paragraph structure

A complex and accurate thesis statement that sums up your entire perspective in one sentence

At least two “scholarly sources” (magazines, newspapers, books, journals, etc.)

The citation of the lyrics of at least one song

Topic Choices: Pick one of these as the subject of your paper

1. Write about a musician/group and their impact on a genre of music or a social era. Did they change a generation of listeners? Or did they reflect the ideas and beliefs of listeners? Were they in agreement with the government or in opposition? Was their influence positive or negative or a combination of the two?
2. Examine a singer’s songs, describing one in particular and how it fits in with or compares to the whole body of an artist’s work. Analyze the lyrics as if they were poetry. Don’t write about what the lyrics mean to you in your personal life, but what the artist could have meant by the lyrics. Is there a song that is an exemplar of their work or the time period or one that stands out against others? Is the singer also the songwriter?
3. Write about the rise and/or decline of a particular type of music, reasons for it, and the major players in that genre. Did one genre arise because of another (for instance, did rock and roll begin as a variation of the blues or country in America?), was there a leader in the genre and a follower who continued on to carry it further? What causes the genre to change? Who were the major contributors?
4. Write an essay that identifies and then analyzes the signs and signifiers of a genre of music (or even of a particular band). This could include their clothing, modes of travel, types of fans, what kind of media they use to express themselves or are exposed to, what kind of instruments they use (or don’t use), what kinds of venues they perform at, the way that they sell their music—iTunes, vinyl, CDs or mix tapes out the back of a van. Using one or more of these signifiers, come up with statement about the genre as a whole.

 Regardless of what topic you have chosen, I expect you to analyze the lyrics of at least one song that is sung by the individual or group you have chosen and to relate those lyrics to the theme of your paper, supporting your thesis.
