Advertising

Advertisments are everywhere. It is almost impossible to go anywhere these days without being fed the message to buy shit we dont need. Theres billboards, commericals, magazines, newspapers, pop ups, and many more. Advertisment executives will do anything to catch your  attention because they only have a few seconds before you flip the paper or channel. Personally, I find ads and commericals rather annoying. Most ad are over printed or over played. There was one point over this past summer were I wanted to kill myself if i had to see that stupid Yaz commerical one more time. I would go to change the channel because of it and there it was on another station. errr. I guess that they did what they were suppose to; get the message out about their product.

I in no way support smoking or anything of the sort i am just throwing this out there so we can maybe take a look at these peoples side of the story. In the movie thank you for smoking the lobbiest(i forgot his name) is critized for trying to get people to buy cigs. It got to the point to were he should have had a body guard because he was attacked. Yah the movie makes it seem like advertisers dont care about how their product will effect people. But like he said in the movie when he asked why he did this for a living, he answered that he has a mortgage to pay. Im sure he didnt grow up thinking that he wanted to work in an industry that has killed so many people. Also he said that it was something that he was good at; arguing with people to make them look wrong. At least for me, I have lived my whole life thinking that we are suppose to go after the jobs that we are good at and enjoy the most. So really he was just doing something that we are all taught to do. It just sucks that what he was good at was not good for everyones health.
