Everywhere you look you cant help but an advertisement for something. You can be driving down the highway, walking through the mall, or watching tv. There is no escaping it they are everywhere. If you think about it you have at least once been influenced by a commercial or something and went out to buy the product. I personally enjoy watching different commercials on tv and seeing what goes into it, who they are trying to get to, and who they want to buy something. When you are flipping through the channels stop and look at what gets advertised on different channels. For instance if you watch Disney channel or cartoon network they show mainly commercials for toys or a play place like chuckie cheese. If you happen to watch a channel like the home network they show commercials for cleaning supplies or healthy food. Advertisers are very smart in the way that they choose where to place the ad. They put kid toys on kid channels because they know thats what kids want. Moms are most likely to watch shopping networks or the home network so they put cleaning supplies on the commercials thinking that the mom will be the one to buy it. Sometimes ads go a little over the top with what they say or do in a commercial. If you notice when you see an add for beer they always show a beautiful women drinking the beer on a sandy beach. I think ads need to be more realistic. Some ads give off the impression that if you buy this product you will be just like the perfect person in the commercial. It makes you want to buy something for all the wrong reasons. Nobody should buy a certain type of pants because they think it will make them cool. I think ads should be more realistic and just show what they want you to buy not trying to get you to be cool. Everything appeals to someone different, whether its a toy, or a type of drink.

I agree with you very much. I think they are trying to get to society using all the wrong methods in some cases, such as you mentioned with the beer commercials. On the other hand, however, they’re very intelligent with their choices in the way of advertising PLACEMENT.
